The Buccaneer Cup Sailfish Release Tournament was launched in 1963 by members of the historic Buccaneer Yacht Club (BYC), and is running strong in its 58th year thanks to local supporters, sponsors, volunteers, and Tournament Director Courtney Bowden.
Tonight, the captain’s meeting for the Buccaneer Cup kicks off at Viking Yacht Service Center in Riviera Beach, Florida at 5:30 p.m., and fishing days are this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (January 21, 22, & 23). Sportfishing teams will fish the captain’s choice of 2 out of 3 days, the weigh-in for meat fish and sailfish release card drop off will be at Sailfish Marina, Buccaneer Marina, and Square Grouper (Jupiter), and the awards celebration dinner will be at The Sailfish Club of Florida this Saturday.
